Purpose of General Orders
General Order 001
.
To:   All Officers
Purpose:   The purpose of General Orders for the Army of Alabama will be to communicate to all officers
  the rules, regulations, and procedures for conduct in the Army of Alabama.

             Orders:
.
             1. General Orders: 1.1  General Orders shall incorporate all rules, regulations, and procedures deriving from the
        offices of:
.
        1.1.1 Headquarters, Confederate States Army
        1.1.2 Headquarters, Western Theater Command
        1.1.3 Headquarters, Army of Alabama
.
             2. Communication: 2.1 General Orders shall be communicated through the chain of command and will be posted
       at the Army of Alabama Headquarters. Whenever General Orders are established, revised,
       or declared obsolete, notice will be sent through the chain of command to all affected officers.

             3. Chain of Command: 3.1 It will be the responsibility of the Army Commander (or his Executive Officer) to notify all
       Corps Commanders of additions or changes to the General Orders and to post a copy of
       said orders at the Headquarters of the Army of Alabama.

3.2 Corps Commanders shall be responsible for personally notifying all Division Commanders
       of additions or changes to the General Orders.
.
3.3 Division Commanders shall be responsible for personally notifying all Brigade Commanders
       of additions or changes to the General Orders.
.
             4. General Rules: 4.1 Posting of the General Orders at AoA Headquarters and or to Corps Bulletin Boards shall
.        not be considered notification for the purposes of this order. The designated commander
.        (or his Executive Officer) shall notify his subordinate commanders by email of any additions
.        or changes to the General Orders and should require acknowledgement of receipt.
